"From the Skin-Side Out" can be readily tailored to the specific interests of the group, organization, or educational institution.

The dress of a wide range of social stations are represented - soldiers, tradesmen, farmers, and socialites. Each contributed to America's development and growth from a colony to the industrial state is is today.

As women's place in American society became more restricted so did the women's dress.

Men's fashions reflected the changing social mode from an avant-garde appearance in the 17th century to a more rigid social structure in the 19th century.
